our story

Founded by Uyen, a pastry chef with over 20 years of experience, and husband Jeff Kirshenbaum, an NYC finance guru turned LA restaurateur, KBC is more than a bakery — it’s a story of passion, dreams, and the sweet spot where they meet.

We started small during the pandemic, sending love in cookie form to friends and family across the country. As the word spread, so did the demand for our cookies, pastries, and savory bites. Soon, KBC outgrew its original oven, and we found a new space to call home.

Now, we are proud to be serving our customers-turned-family with artisanal, chef-driven baked goods in Downtown Westfield, NJ, and — as of Spring 2024 — Morristown, NJ.

Creating joy is the philosophy that guides everything we do, from building seasonal menus to sourcing ingredients to making you the perfect cup of coffee. Hearth-baked breads, artisan sandwiches, signature pies, cakes, and pastries — everything we make is handcrafted in-house using time-honored techniques and premium ingredients. It’s just the KBC way.
